Full-Size SUV’s is the ultimate family vehicle. With space like an SUV, and towing capacity and payload like a truck, you can drive to the lake with your family and boat. Keep on reading to find out the best full-size SUV for 2021.

5th Place: Toyota Sequoia

As MotorTrend put it, “The Toyota Sequoia is almost as old as the tree!” Sharing it’s main powertrain with the Tundra, the Sequoia’s I-Force engine was the least powerful engine. It hauls the smallest amount of weight and towed the least amount. This is the main reason you step it up to a full-size SUV from a 3-row mid-size. It did start at the second least expensive, but if looking for a new full-size SUV, you should spend the extra $1,000 to get the Expedition or Yukon.

4th Place: Chevy Suburban/Tahoe

The Chevy Suburban got its’ looks from its’ cousin the Silverado. Luckily, the Suburban didn’t get the ugly sideburns giving it a menacing look. It kind of looks like they stretched a Tahoe but went a little too far. Sadly again, the Chevy got the short end of GMC’s stick, as Chevy’s always do. The Suburban towed 100 pounds less than the Yukon and it’s payload was 300 pounds less than the Yukon also. That is frustrating for Chevy.

3rd Place: Dodge Durango

The Dodge Durango is tied as our third place finisher. Although it has great performance variants, we’re comparing the mid-range Durango. Even though the SRT and SRT Hellcats are great performance vehicles, they are as heavy as a whale. They both kind of look like one too. The Durango towed the second most amount and had a best-in-class payload. If you are looking for a new full-size SUV then you would regret buying a Durango.

3rd Place: Nissan Armada

The Nissan Armada just a got a mid-cycle refresh and it really helped. Instead of placing last, it fought hard and came in a solid 3rd. The Armada’s starting price was the lowest but it didn’t show at all. It was pretty luxurious on the Platinum trim but it’s horrible gas mileage makes you want to have a gas truck following you. Despite being the second least powerful, it towed the second most amount and hauled the third most. All in all, the Nissan Armada is great if you don’t mind the way it looks.

2nd Place: GMC Yukon XL

The GMC Tahoe XL was so close to first place, but it’s mediocre towing capacity held it back. We’d rather pick the Chevy’s looks but the Denali trim practically makes it a luxury full-size SUV. It’s best in class horsepower helped it achieve a best in class payload, even over it’s cousin the Suburban. The Tahoe is our runner up for the best full-size SUV for 2021, but we’d only get the Denali trim or we’d get the Ford Expedition.

1st Place: Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is our Best Full-size SUV for 2021. Despite being a V6, it’s twin-turbos help it have a best in class towing capacity and make it the most powerful engine here. Since it will be hauling a family, Ford developed a great safety system which helps it achieve 5 out of 5 stars in NHTSA crash ratings. For being a big and heavy SUV, the smaller V6 helps it achieve a best-in-class gas mileage. If you are looking for a new full-size SUV, the Ford Expedition is the best choice.

The table below can be a great pocket guide for your education or to prove to your friends that your choice was the best.
